Firefox, Xorg e Flash

Se mentre navigate vi schiatta improvvisamente firefox pare, quasi sicuramente, che il problema dipenda dall'ultimo aggiornamento di Xorg fatto sulle maggiori distribuzioni.

Nello specifico per capire se è questo il bug che vi affligge bisognerà avviare firefox da shell e controllare se al crash si presenta il seguente messaggio:

In caso affermativo vi consiglio di andare nella directory .mozilla/plugins presente nella vostra home e di cancellare la libreria relativa a flash (libflashplayer.so). A questo punto flash sarà disabilitato e firefox non dovrebbe più crashare.

Altra alternativa è usare Epiphany, l'ho riscoperto oggi dopo anni di totale indifferenza e devo dire che fa proprio bene il suo dovere... navigare :)

ho scoperto che configurando in xorg.conf una profondità di colore di 24 bit invece che di 16 bit flash non crasha!
