è stata rilasciata la nuova versione di nvu, l’editor WzYSIWYG basato su gecko, il rendering engine di mozilla. Il progetto è stato realizzato con la collaborazione della distribuzione Lindows e, negli ultimi mesi, ha compiuto passi da gigante.

intanto, sempre per rimanere in tema vi segnalo anche la nuova release di quanta, la Bleeding Edge 1.

Quanta Plus now has a new branch, the BE (Bleeding Edge) branch. Quanta BE was established for several reasons. Because we have updated and added so many features this gives us an opportunity to introduce these to users in advance of releases. Also because some of our ongoing development on portions of Quanta does not always coincide with KDE release schedules this allows those features with new UI strings to be added and made available. Because of the need for so many diverse features some of our more involved users will want to have those features available sooner. This branch should be considered a development branch and not as stable as a release version. There are known bugs and unfinished features. however any time we release a BE package you can be sure that it has been tested by a number of users and developers.

stanotte i ragazzi di Six Apart hanno rilasciato la notizia dell’imminente rilascio delle prime beta releases di Movable Type 3, anzi di TypeKey. Così infatti hanno deciso di chiamare la nuova versione del blog tuttofare.

Interessante il progetto di AlexKing (uno degli sviluppatori di wordpress) per la creazione e la gestione di manuali d’uso per programmi. Il software si chiama phpDoc System:

What it is:
A modular PHP system for creating documentation. You create modules for documentation elements (installation steps, buttons, screens, etc.) and then refer to them instead of having to copy/paste information you’d want to have in 2 or more places. For example, you have an application that has buttons on a toolbar which appears on several screens. You define each button, define the toolbar and include the buttons, then define the screens and include the toolbar which in turn includes the buttons. It can run as dynamic PHP, including everything on the fly or it can output static HTML that you can include in your software distribution.

What it is NOT:
A system for documenting PHP code (like JavaDoc).

Who it’s for:
Anyone who knows some PHP and needs to write some documentation.

StyleMaster è un software WYSIWYG per creare e gestire complicati fogli in stile, Maxime Sherrin ha pubblicato sul suo blog un tutorial che parte dalle basi ed arriva a gestire un pò tutte le problematiche della realizzazione di un CSS utilizzandolo. Il tutorial è ben fatto e può essere sfruttato per imparare qualcosina anche senza dover scaricarsi il software in questione ;) .

nato come progettino in collaborazione con Futa, smartGallery è uno script PHP scritto in OOP che permette di creare delle gallerie di immagini senza impazzire con strampalati file di configurazione.

Ecco alcune features dello script:

– supporta l’utilizzo della classe smartThumb per la creazione dinamica di thumbnails (se il formato è JPG o PNG)
– l’output è personalizzabile tramite CSS e XHTML 1.0 valido
– gestisce più directory di immagini
– facilmente estendibile
– visualizza l’immagine sia come popup che all’interno della template

ah, ovviamente la licenza è la classica GPL.
