rico

Nata come fork di prototype (ne ho parlato qualche tempo fa) Rico è una libreria javascript opensource che permette di realizzare applicazioni web di un certo calibro (e di sfruttare tra l’altro ajax)

Rico is a Spanish word meaning rich. The goal of Rico is to provide a rich experience for web sites using Ajax technology.

Rico is just one small part of a larger effort at Sabre Airline Solutions to create a suite of rich internet components, behaviors and effects for the web application space.

The library is a fully object-oriented JavaScript library. Recently we refactored the library to extend the excellent prototype.js effort from the Ruby on Rails folks.

da guardare assolutamente uno degli esempi messi sul sito, sembra quasi una gdesklet o un widget per dashboard!

OpenIT

OpenIT is a free IT management web application written in PHP which tracks Employees, Computers, Software, Printers, Support Issues, Knowledge Base articles, Out of Office notices, and more. It has a number of features including simple reporting, HTML editing, and notifications via e-mail or Jabber.

OpenIT is written in PHP and uses PEAR modules for database access and much of its HTML layout. However, it is developed using the Apache HTTP Server and MySQL 4.0.

phpCollab 2.5 rc 3

oggi ho rilasciato phpCollab 2.5 rc 3 “I’m late as always”

I’ve released the phpCollab 2.5 rc 3, this release is the last one before the 2.5 stable. The rc3 is pretty a bug fix release (for more info take a look at the changelog) no great news and enhancement here.

Please test it a lot on your server, we need a lot of bug hunting for msql server and postfix and on upgrading procedure from 2.4, when will be sure of the code we will publish the stable.

upgrading from 2.5 beta/rc
the upgrade function is only from 2.4 to 2.5 rc 3 and is not suited for a 2.5 beta/rc to rc 3 migration so if you want to update a 2.5 beta/rc I suggest you to dump the old db, make a fresh install of the rc 3 and the import the old db data tables in the new db.

voip in casa

nato in seno al progetto Asterisk, noto PBX open source per creare centralini VoIP, Asterisk@home è una ISO che comprende tutto il software ed i manuali per configurarsi in pochi semplici passi un centralino VoIP in casa.

Tra i software presenti nel pacchetto sono interessanti AMP, una sorta di webportal che permette la configurazione del PBX senza passare da incasinati script di configurazione e XPL, che permette di interfacciarsi automaticamnte ad un fracco di periferiche quali modem, sistemi per la videoconferenza, impianti audio.

Una curiosità il cd installa automaticamente la distribuzione CentOS 3.4.

mi ero scordato di dire che ovviamente serve un modem compatibile con asterisk, per trovarlo ad un buon prezzo basta usare ebay ;)
